SHORT CV

Dr Yannis Hajidimitriou is Professor in International Business at the Department of Business Administration, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. As of June 2009 he has been appointed Chairman of the Interim Governing Committee of the Department of Marketing and Operations Management (Edessa). He was elected Vice Chairman at the Department of Business Administration for the period September 2008 - August 2010. Professor Hajidimitriou is holding a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. He teaches the courses Introduction to International Business, The Firm in the International Economic Environment, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics in the B.A. program as well as the course International Business and International and Export Marketing in the MBA and Executive MBA programs. Professor Hajidimitriou served as a Chairman of the MBA Programs for the period September 2004 - September 2006 and as Vice Chairman of the MBA Program for the period September 2002 - September 2004.
Dr Hajidimitriou was Visiting Lecturer in International Business at the Sheffield University Management School, U.K. (1995-97), Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, USA (1984-86), and Adjunct Professor in the MBA programs of Fairleigh Dickinson University (1989-91) and Seton Hall University in New Jersey (1990), USA. Dr Hajidimitriou also worked for AT&T, USA, in the Market Analysis and Forecasting department (1986-92). His current research interests focus on strategies of international expansion, international joint ventures and international strategic alliances. Recent research articles appear in the Journal of International Consumer Marketing, European Journal of Operational Research, European Business Review, American Business Review and in the proceedings of several international conferences.
Dr Hajidimitriou has organized, coordinated and taught a large number of seminars for managers in International Business, International and Export Marketing, and Economics for Managers. He is also the author of three university textbooks (in Greek). Since July 2000, Dr Hajidimitriou is a member of the Board of Directors of the Exporters Association of Northern Greece, representing the University of Macedonia.
